Working with me

I am a qualified integrative counsellor, but I’m heavily rooted in person-centred counselling. I can integrate various concepts if they are best suited to your needs, such as CBT, but strongly believe that our relationship is at the heart of our work. It’s important that we are a good fit, like any other relationship, for you to feel safe, heard and understood. I understand that the vulnerability of counselling can be daunting and uncomfortable. Therefore, building trust and security in our relationship, where you can feel safe enough to be vulnrable is important to me. It’s your space and I want you to feel you can get what you need from it.

Each session is yours, and you can bring whatever feels useful for you. I aim to provide a warm, non-judgmental, and open space that is confidential. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, overwhelm, stress, relationship issues, gender exploration, low self-esteem, bereavement, identity issues etc, together we can explore the root and untangle what is going on for you.

During life, it is common to wear various masks, learn behavioural patterns, or find ourselves in cycles of relating that can feel familiar and may have served us during unsettling periods or helping us fit in or feel accepted. However, you may find that these masks, patterns, and cycles can become unhelpful and might not be serving you in the long term.

During our sessions, my intention is to work collaboratively to begin to build trust, security, and consistency in our relationship encouraging your outer mask to slip so you can begin exploring your true self.

With that can come acceptance, liberation, confidence, empowerment, and freedom to live, grow, and develop as the true you!

Sometimes life can feel daunting and difficult to manage, and you may be seeking help. With each session we will take steps, at your own pace, to build confidence and resilience to make changes that feel right for you.
